Concord launches new studio with free spinning weekend
Sheffield sports centre is celebrating national Bike Week with a weekend of free spinning classes.

Concord Sports Centre, in Shiregreen, is also using the event to officially launch its new spinning studio for members and pay-as-you-go users on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 June. The classes, which will begin at 9.30am on Saturday will run throughout the weekend at various intervals while the centre is open and are available to anyone over the age of 16 who wants to take part.

Bike Week, the UK’s biggest mass participation cycling event, is aimed at encouraging people to travel on bikes rather than cars to increase fitness and also to raise awareness of the positive effects cycling has on the body.

Emma Lindop, Concord Sports Centre’s health and fitness manager, said: “We want everyone to come and try spinning in our new studio this weekend to celebrate bike week and officially open our new studios. “Spinning is an energetic, indoor workout on stationary bikes which is fantastic for losing weight and toning the lower body. You can control the intensity and speed suitable for your fitness level so anyone can try it.”

People interested in taking part in the free spinning classes are advised to book in advance by contacting the centre on 0114 257 0053.
