Kids go free this school holiday

School children can spend their February half term at Concord Sports Centre for free, as part of a community funded initiative.

There are 80 free places available at Concord’s Cool Cat’s Camp until Friday 5 February, available to children aged 8-13 living in Southey Green, Parson Cross, Shirecliffe, Shiregreen, Longley, Fox Hill and Winn Gardens.

Children can play on the bouncy castle and take part in activities including ball sports and team games during the week 15-19 February.

Richard Apps, general manager for Concord Sports Centre, said: “Sheffield International Venues is committed to making health and fitness accessible to the whole community. Our kids camps are fantastic and fun opportunities to get children in the community active while they’re away from school.”

The activity days run across Sheffield International Venues-operated centres English Institute of Sport – Sheffield, Don Valley Stadium, Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, and Hillsborough Leisure Centre.

Concord’s free sessions have been funded by Southey and Owlerton Area Regeneration (SOAR). The sessions usually cost £14.00 per day.

To book a free place, parents should contact Debbie Colley on 0114 2574419.
