Leading leisure operator Sheffield International Venues (SIV) has launched a competition asking local school children to tell them how they are ‘changing4life’.
Schools across the city are being asked to submit a two-minute video entry, an art project or a written entry about what they have been doing as part of the ‘change4 life’ campaign - a national movement that encourages people to get active, eat well and move more.
The competition kick starts SIV’s Summer activities, which encourages families to spend their summer holidays in Sheffield and get active through SIV’s 14 sports and leisure venues.
Competition Organiser Laura Shimells said: “Through our competition, we hope to motivate school children across the city to get involved with the ‘change4life’ initiative, as well as introducing them to the activities available to them and their families this summer.
“We are running more summer activities to encourage families to spend their summer in Sheffield – whether you want to take a dip in one of our pools, try a new sport or cool off on with a skate at iceSheffield!
“Change4life is a fantastic way of encouraging children and their families to stay active and eat healthily, and we hope to play a part in this by getting children and families active for the whole summer.”
The winning entry will win a free sports day at one of SIV’s leading sports venues, as well as a night out at the Last Laugh Comedy Club for the teachers.
Laura added “We can tailor your winning day to suit your needs and you can even pick a first and second venue preference. All venues offer spectator seating so all the parents can come and watch their young ones have a fantastic fun day out.”
