Activity Sheffield
Activity Sheffield offers a range of physical activity, play and sport sessions across the city. We work closely with the team to help support the city with fitness, activities and general fun for everyone.
Slice Card

School Sports Partnerships
School Sports Partnerships are clusters of secondary schools and their feeder primary schools, working together to raise standards in PE and school sport. Each School Sport Partnership has a Partnership Development Manager, and each secondary school is allocated a School Sport Co-ordinator. In turn, each primary school in the cluster has a Primary Link Teacher. The School Sports Partnership provides a hub for strategic planning and the delivery of sport within local schools, and also works with the local community and clubs to ensure that young people have the means to access life long participation beyond the school environment.

The Institute of Swimming’s (IoS) education arm is the largest trainer of swimming teachers and coaches in England and the premier provider of the ASA’s courses. They are at the cutting edge of teacher and coach education, from running the latest UKCC courses through to providing continuing professional development opportunities. They hold some courses at the centre and help train our swimming teachers. ASA
The ASA (formerly known as the Amateur Swimming Association) has been in existence since 1869. Although the ASA has a long history, it has moved on considerably since its foundation and is now a vibrant modern governing body providing leadership to the industry of swimming many ways.
Swim 21 is the ASA's Club Development model - a planning tool, based on the principles of Long Term Athlete Development, enabling clubs to help athletes, teachers, coaches and administrators to achieve their full potential. It focuses particularly on the needs of athletes - striving to provide them with the best possible support and environment.
The ASA operates a Learn to Swim award scheme based on the National Plan for Teaching Swimming, a programme the ASA has developed to take children through from their first splash to full competence in the water this scheme is in effect at Concord Sports Centre. www.swimming.org/asa

Slimming World
Slimming World is the largest UK-based weight loss organisation. It holds almost 6,000 weekly groups around the UK, led by 2,500 trained consultants, who are self employed. According to the company, over the past 40 years more than five million slimmers have attended its groups and lost over 60 million pounds. Weight Watchers is an international company that offers various dieting products and services to assist weight loss and maintenance. Playing for success
Playing for Success (PfS) is a partnership between the Department for Education (DfE), local authorities and a broad range of sports. Partners include clubs and the Premier League and Football Leagues, Rugby League and Union, cricket, basketball, hockey, ice hockey, gymnastics and tennis. In all, 19 different sports are represented in PfS. Sheffield Mind offers advice, support and counseling for those suffering from Mental Health difficulties, their carers and families. We work with Sheffield Mind as a venue for activities and meetings.

Count Me in
The Extended Services Subsidy, known in Sheffield as Count me in!, is part of the Government’s commitment to extended services in and around schools. The funding is designed to subsidise access to extended services activities for economically disadvantaged children and young people and children in care. In doing so, the subsidy aims to improve well-being, raise attainment and narrow the attainment gap. City of Sheffield Swim Squad
The City of Sheffield Swim Squad is the competitive outlet for the Sheffield City Council Swim Training Scheme. We have fantastic support from the council, who not only provide us with top level and fully qualified coaches, but also provide a comprehensive swimming pathway via the Swimming Development team. This includes links with the city’s schools and private swimming lessons, organising development galas, and also helps us maintain a healthy relationship with the other Sheffield clubs. SNIPS
The Special Needs Inclusion Playcare Service (SNIPS) provides opportunities for parent/carers of Children and Young people with special needs and disabilities to take short respite breaks from caring, knowing that their child/children will be in a safe, supportive play environment.
NHS
Concord Sports Centre works with many areas of the NHS from being a venue for meetings and consultations including Smoking Cessation groups to physical activity such as gym use and sports. Concord is also a venue for the National Blood Service Blood Mobile Unit on a regular basis. www.nhs.uk
